No problems with the drive's enclosure itself were detected, but the drive failed all tests. The local technicians took the drive's enclosure apart to test the drive and enclosure separately. This problem started happening after the system had been using the drive successfully for a while, and had performed numerous Time Machine backups to it. My BIOS recognizes that there is a drive present but it cant ID it correctly.
